Attendance at the International Hydropower Association: Advancing Sustainable Hydropower
Aileen Anderson attended the International Hydropower Association (IHA) conference on advancing sustainable hydropower. The congress took place in Iguassu Brail from 14 to 17 June. Aileen was invited by the IHA to moderate a session on integrating water and energy policies. The session outlined the need for more harmonisation between water and energy planning to achieve the development goals common to both sectors.
The congress brought together leading energy experts from across the globe with an interest in developing a more sustainable energy future. Other sessions included how the new Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Protocols can be applied, combining renewable technologies and regional cooperation for hydropower development.
